Day 8
Today was the last day of the Kunming trip. This morning, we had our group breakfast together. It was the best breakfast ever. (:
Today, we were supposed to go to the Western Hill. It was shivering cold, at the same time, it was raining. All of us went down the coach. Everybody was caught in the rain. Liyana felt very cold, Ren Hui and Poornima volunteered their scarfs to her and Liyana felt very thankful. Her group members take care of each other. Friendship and group work is what we always need when we need to show concern to one another.
Because of the rain, we took the fast buggy up the hill! We ride up the hill and realised that it was still raining. We have no choice but we have to ride the buggy down the hill again. As the wind brushes through our faces, it was cold!
Because of the Western Hill activity was cancelled, we were brought to go on a last shopping in Kunming! We went to one of the local big market which is a one way in, one way out shopping.
We went for lunch and Liyana had a fever and everyone rushed to her to take care of her. She was touched by everyone, teachers and friends, who were beside her taking good care of her.

Day 7

Where did we went? YES! We went to Dinosaur Village with excitement! As the fossil museum was something new to us as most of us have never seen a dinosaur fossil and see them doing the research in our own eyes. After visiting the museum, it was the event that everyone was waiting for. THE THEME PARKKK!

The theme park rides were totally awesome for all of us although we didn't get to ride 1 or 2 rides. All of the rides were exciting and thrilling, however some of our friends felt nauseous after the ride and some cried because they were scared yet they are brave to try it. Many friends took care and comfort them. Friendships are really important in times like this. Friends encouraged each other and calm each other down when we are in trouble and need a helping hand. It was very touching to see everyone close together like a family in such a short time, even though we are not very close beginning of the trip.

Day 6

We did Taiji again! It's alright, it is always good to exercise and learn more! We did the cultural dance! We felt that it was like a cavemen dance when we were going to bend up and down. We were all not used to it initially but we danced with lots of fun!
Next was the Dai Zhu dance. It was like Chinese Dance because of the feminine moves. We should clap for the boys because they did not complain that the dance was very feminine, they danced and had fun.

The indian dancers felt really nervous. All of us hoped we do well.
Liyana lost her script for the role of the emcee. Everybody was helping Liyana to find her script. It was a scene where the East View get together to help one person and it was very touching. We have to check the windbreakers' pockets one by one. Liyana felt very sorry towards the teacher for making them worried. Ms Chua, Amanda, Haikal, Fairuz and many other people comforted Liyana. Especially Amanda, she has given the best comfort and encouragement as Liyana panicked all the way. Lucky Liyana, Ms Reenu found her windbreaker! She got her script and was very relieved. She have to calm herself down and do her best for the emcee!
Liyana was able to go up on stage as a indian dancer and a emcee confidently because mostly of Amanda.

Poornima choked herself by stepping onto the scarf during the indian dance. The indian dance was presented with the brightest smile and we were all proud of it! The dance was filled with energy, it is a dance that we have given our best!
When we were singing our national day songs, we were all singing out loud because we knew it was the last day that we would be performing. Ren Hui and Liyana felt like crying because it was a moment when East View comes together and represent Singapore.
All of us were about to burst out in tears. Ren Hui felt very sorry as she was the first to start crying. Beginning, those who didn't cried comfort the ones who cried, after awhile, it was the other way round! We all took photos and got each other's email. We are going to miss our Anning buddies. We felt that we have done our best to keep in touch, with our buddies.
A lot of us cried, but we comforted telling them that we can still contact each other using the biggest network over the world like Windows Live Messenger. This is called friendship, where friends always tell the other to see on the bright side.

Day 5

It was mostly the first time for some of us to go to a rural school. We are in the school to teach the children some subjects that they never knew. We are very happy to make a difference in each and every of the children, it is a wonderful feeling for us. It is an experience that nobody would experience to teach someone things that they never knew.
During the teaching process, we were all very nervous as things didn't really turn out what we expected. We learnt how to build-up self confidence, how to calm down and handle a different situation in a short time. Although, indeed it was a challenge for everyone to teach 40 children in one class and other Anning buddies looking at us. We teach the children with everything that we could use. We are proud to say that we have done our best!

Giving some items for learning will eventually be useful for their education system in future.
The performance that we did in their school was also the best that we can give!
The children seems like 8 years old, but they are actually 11 to 12 years old. They do not have enough nutrition. We should cherish the things that we have now. We are contented to teach them what we know and let them explore more.

Day 4

Stone Forest
We were all tired of the walking steep steps of stones. The stones were the same, there would be no meaning taking the same pictures over and over again even when you change your destination. When we reach the highest place of Stone Forest and look at the beautiful scenery, the walking was worth it. It is something that we have learnt from the Stone Forest. Everything have their own personality, likes and dislikes. We are all unique and special. Stone Forest maybe a tourist attraction, but also somewhere which you can learn and understand something deeply.

Jiuxiang
We were rowing the boat for a short distance and making a U-turn. We hoped everyone got the chance to row the boat. We took our turns, passing it to the front and back. It was fun, tiring and some of us got splashed by teachers and friends. We learn how to share things more and let others experience what we have experienced otherwise, it would be unfair.

Everything was so beautiful, we were snapping photos endlessly just like the staircases. The stairs in the cave are never ending! However, all of us managed to overcome our tiredness and finish the long stairs-climbing marathon.
We could see that some of them have difficulty going through the dark and creepy cave with the steep stairs. Very fortunately, they have their caring friends who are always concerning them. Some of them also have difficulty meeting the end point, but they have friends and teachers cheering behind them!
We gave a cheer and claps for those who came up at the steep staircase from the cave, finally!

Frightening Cable Car Ride
The cable car ride was fun and exciting for some of us, but not many. Some of our friends were afraid and did not want to go on ride, some even cried. Many wild imaginations go through their head. After much encouragement and support by teachers and friends, they managed to overcome their fear and take the cable car.
We felt that they were really brave although they did not want to take the ride and the ride last for a few minutes.
Friends in times like that, are really important when your family members are not beside you.

In conclusion, it was a fruitful and wonderful trip that will be a lifetime memory that will stick into our heart till it stop beating. We hope that our encouragement and support will greatly impact on those friends that we gave and hope that this will strengthen our bonds together as a friend, or maybe, as a family.

Day 3

Yee Teng visited another buddy's home called Lu Yang. She learnt how to make dumplings and also ate handmade dumplings over at their buddy's house! It was a fantastic experience. It would be common if there is a awkward silence between you and your friends but Ren Hui and her buddy really talked a lot about the difference in Singapore and China, like the school hours. Ren Hui felt that home visitation has helped to build up her confidence and social skills. This also helps her to be more open up to strangers.

Liyana had her home visit buddy together with Haikal. Our buddy's name is Cindy Bi Xin Yi. Liyana was glad to be the translator for Haikal because Cindy have some difficulties communicating with Haikal. Liyana felt that the resident is very quiet and peaceful. There is not much of vehicles sound. There is no awkward silence because Cindy has been entertaining them non-stop! It was a joy to visit her house. Home visitation has helped Liyana to learn things by paying more attention and putting more effort.

Chee Poh has learnt how to speak up for himself during the home visit. His buddies were very friendly. Chee Poh made more new friends together with his buddy because he can speak up so that he can interact with strangers. This can help him in his future studies, business.

Ren Hui had a totally new experience at their buddy's home. She learnt a lot of things which she has never learnt before, like making dumplings. Ren Hui then ate her own hand-made dumplings. Ren Hui encountered many things which she has not met before, and so she felt that this home visit was very meaningful.

Poornima also played some new games in her buddy's house. She played badminton and basketball with her buddy. She feels that playing sports and games can also help to socialise better with other people. It is a very good experience.

Day 2

The principal and some teachers from Anning Middle School warmly welcomed us at their school gate.
Anning Middle School was huge! It is because it was combined together with primary school and secondary school.
Anning students synchronised clapping got faster and faster as we walked in. It was a truly warm welcome and they made us felt like a celebrity.
Ren Hui got her very first speech in front of more than 400 Anning students. We feel that giving a solo speech in front of over 400 people takes a great courage! Ren Hui also confessed that she was nervous in the first place, but she went up doing a great job! We all believed many of her friends including us must have encouraged her. (:
One of our Anning buddies gave a speech and she got her classmates to sing along a song! This really shows the spirit of Anning Middle School!
We feel that we should learn how to be more confident like them no matter what others say, as long as we do it at the right time and place.

We met our Anning buddies! They were all very friendly towards us.
Liyana met her previous buddy during lunch. They both felt like they are good friends that have not met for a long time.

It was mostly all our first time to learn martial arts! Poornima and some of us cannot kick up high because of the tight jeans!
.

This is Liyana's work. :D

We have learn Chinese calligraphy. We felt that learning something new is really a wonderful experience. We should explore the world more and find something that is worth learning for the first time!
